Honorable Chief Minister of Haryana Inaugurated the HUDA-DLF flyover at Sikanderpur

Honorable CHIEF MINISTER OF HARYANA, SHRI. MANOHAR LAL KHATTAR inaugurated the DLF-HUDA flyover at Sikanderpur and the Cyber-City Underpass . Shri. RAO NARBIR SINGH, HON’BLE MINISTER PWD & PUBLIC HEALTH, RAJIV SINGH, VICE CHAIRMAN, DLF Ltd, MR. RAJEEV TALWAR, GROUP EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, DLF LTD, Shri. RAM VILLAS SHARMA, EDUCATION MINISTER, GOVERNMENT OF HARYANA, MR. ROHIT MALIK, DIRECTOR, DEDL (DLF Estates Developers Ltd) along with the other officials of DLF and HUDA were also present on the occasion.

The Sikanderpur flyover is jointly built by DLF Ltd and Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA), in public-private partnership. It is a part of the 16-lane high-speed road, where eight underpasses are also being built, connecting the Delhi-Gurgaon expressway with the Golf Course Extension Road. It is a first of its kind initiative in the country where a private builder has collaborated in 50:50 partnership with the Government for upgrading the infrastructure of the city. THE TOTAL LENGTH OF THE FLYOVER IS 740M AND WIDTH IS 11M (3 LANES, ONE-WAY).

IT HAS BEEN BUILT AT A COST OF RS 16.5 CRORE. THE LENGTH OF CYBER-CITY UNDERPASS IS 384M (2 LANES). Underpass has been conceived considering urban environment to make it environment friendly. It will reduce noise pollution and public inconvenience.

Sikanderpur Chowk is one of the busiest crossings in Gurgaon with traffic coming from Mehrauli, Faridabad, residential sectors of Gurgaon and Cyber City merging at this point. At present, there is only one road to deal with the huge number vehicles. The Sikanderpur flyover will ease the traffic choke point near City Court in Sikanderpur, allowing vehicles coming from Mehrauli a smooth passage to Cyber City. It will primarily take the load of the traffic coming from Mehrauli headed towards National Highway 8 through Cyber City. THE FLYOVER IS EXPECTED TO BENEFIT ABOUT 1.5 MILLION RESIDENTS AND COMMUTERS FROM OUTSIDE GURGAON WHO WORK IN THE CITY THAT HOUSES MANY MULTI-NATIONAL COMPANIES (MNCS).IT CUTS DOWN THE TRAVEL TIME BETWEEN MG ROAD AND CYBER CITY TO THREE MINUTES FROM THE PRESENT 15 MINUTES.

Speaking on the occasion SHRI. MANOHAR LAL KHATTAR, HONORABLE CHIEF MINISTER, HARYANA Said, “DLF is 70 years old organization, which has entered its 4th generation with Mr. Rajiv Singh. DLF has been an integral part of Gurgaon’s development, its contribution to the up gradation of city’s infrastructure is commendable. I congratulate the group for the inauguration of the underpass and flyover and at the same time request you to continue your services to the people of Gurgaon and reach out to the whole of Haryana as well”.

The flyover is seamlessly integrated into the urban infrastructure which comprises of sewerage, drainage systems and other utilities making it an integral part of the urban system. It also features a dedicated utilities corridor to facilitate maintenance in future without causing public inconvenience and digging of the road section.

SALIENT FEATURES OF THE FLYOVER:

* 740m long and 11 m wide (3 lanes, one-way).

* The flyover to accommodate traffic from Mehrauli (M G Road).

* Provision of LED lighting throughout the flyover.

* Around 5000 grown trees planned to be planted within corridor with world class landscape.

* Dedicated Corridor for underground utility services.

* Fully integrated with Rapid Metro alignment.
