Mumbai, August 07, 2019: Despite the heavy rains that brought the city to a standstill, Mumbaikars showed their true spirit by participating in huge numbers in the Mumbai Monsoon Half Marathon held at Bandra Fort in Mumbai. Around 1200+ Mumbaikars in the age groups from 10yrs to 75yrs poured out on the streets of Bandra to participate in four different race categories – 5km, 10km, 21km Half Marathon and 5km non-timed run. An initiative by Sheth Creators and Omega Events, the marathon promoted “Fitness” and also created awareness about the “Plastic Ban”.
The youngest male runner was Tanay Kotak – 10 years old who participated in the 5 km run, while the oldest male runner was Karam Singh Bhoai – 72 years old who ran 5 km, whereas the oldest female runner was Upasna Patel – 59 years old who ran 5 km and the youngest female runner was Priyanka Sharma – 12 years old who ran 5 km.
“We are thrilled to witness the enthusiasm amongst the runners at the Mumbai Monsoon Half Marathon. We can clearly observe that fitness and sports in the city has been on the utmost priority. The participants who finished the marathon got a unique Mumbai Sealink Big Size Finisher Medal which was almost twice in size and weight compared to other Marathon Medals.
