Emaar India Celebrates ‘World Environment Day’ at its Project Sites in Gurgaon and Mohali

New Delhi, July 08, 2017: Emaar India, the iconic brand and leading global property developer, commemorated the 45th World Environment Day today at its various project sites in Gurgaon and Mohali. The Company organised a multitude of activities; including plantation drives by planting 300 saplings, poster and banner-making competitions, awareness programs and flag marches to stress upon the importance of adopting eco-friendly attitude and practices amongst the project residents, company employees, contractors’ staff and 10,000-strong labour workforce. The children of construction labourers for whom Emaar India runs crèches at its project sites, also actively participated in the Environment Day activities.

The celebrations were held at Emaar India’s project sites including The Palm Drive, Marbella, Imperial Gardens, Gurgaon Greens, Palm Hills, Palm Gardens, Colonnade, and Emerald Estates in Gurgaon, and Mohali Hills in Mohali, Chandigarh. The event concluded with sweet distribution and prize distribution ceremony for most health, safety and environmentally conscious site workers.

World Environment Day is an annual initiative founded by United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) in 1972 and celebrated every year on 5th June to encourage citizens across the globe, for taking positive environmental action to protect the nature and our planet. This year’s theme is, “Connecting People to Nature”, to promote interaction with nature to appreciate its beauty & importance and to take forward the call to protect Mother Earth.
