Reflective glass is a type of solar control glass which is energy efficient. Reflective glass is clear or tinted glass that has a very thin layer of metal or metallic oxide on the surface. The thicker the glass is, the less light will pass through the window. The reflective coating reduces heat gain and glare from the outside while allowing visible light to enter.

It is widely used in green building and modern architecture because of its energy saving and  aesthetic properties. It is manufactured by advanced pyrolytic coating technology, wherein silicon based coating is applied to the glass surface by means of pyrolysis. This coating imparts a “mirror-like” appearance to the glass, giving it visual appeal while providing functional benefits like solar control and glare reduction.

Green Buildings and reflective glass

Reflective solar control glass reflects a large proportion of incoming solar radiation, thereby restricting heat penetration into the building. It reflects the right quantity of sunlight so as to limit glare, while allowing adequate amount of natural light. Thus, the need for artificial lights as well as air conditioners is significantly reduced.

Colour range
This glass is visually appealing, it gives an modern feel. It is available in numerous colors to choose from – Gold, Sapphire Blue, Green, Dark Grey and Bronze. It is available in 4mm, 5mm and 6mm thicknesses.

Application in Exteriors:
At shop fronts and commercial frontages, where vision is important, particularly at night time (panoramic restaurants, air traffic control towers, petrol station windows) etc.Application in Interiors:
For high quality picture framing, display cabinets and interior display windows, for dividing screens in cinema projection rooms, television studios, machine control rooms etc.

Meeting certain performance values is essential for today’s standards. Adding a reflective glass product can be just as challenging when trying to develop a product that is both efficient and aesthetically pleasing. Reflective glass allows you to keep your projects flexible and still keep performance a vital component.
