Industry resolves to double turnover to Rs. 50,000 Crores by 2020.

New Delhi, August 06, 2017: Vibrant Ceramics is scheduled for 16-19 November at Gandhinagar, Gujarat

Morbi Ceramics Associations and Octagon Communications Pvt. Ltd., Organizers of Vibrant Ceramics 2017, world’s largest ceramic exhibition of finished goods today announced the Curtain Raiser of the coveted event. The Curtain Raiser was presented at a gala function presided by Shri. Parshottam Rupala, MoS – Agriculture, Farmer’ welfare & Panchayati Raj and Shri. Mansukh Mandaviya, MoS, Road Transport, Highways & Shipping and Chemicals & Fertilisers. The exhibition provides the platform for the world’s largest congregation of Ceramic industry players across 5 continents and 65+ countries. The event was attended by the members of the Morbi Ceramics Association and industry members from the cluster.

India at present contributes to 12.9% of global ceramic consumption resulting in Rs. 25,000 crores of revenues. The relevance of Morbi in Gujarat is evident from the fact that the city contributes to over 90% of revenues to the sector.

Make in India’ has been selected as the theme for the second edition of the event, wherein joint ventures have been entered into with companies from Europe for utilizing equipment and technology to manufacture in Morbi.

The second edition of the Vibrant Ceramics shall be held in Gandhinagar, capital of Gujarat during 16-19 November this year.  The event will entail showcasing of the latest developments in the industry, latest cutting-edge solutions and products as well as seminars and thought-sharing sessions during the three day period. The showcase of the event will be the inaugural address by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji. This edition of the event is expected to observe participation from over 250 exhibitors and delegates, exhibitors from various countries spreading over an area of 50,000 Sq m.

Announcing the launch, Hon’ble Minister Shri Parshottam Rupala said, “India is showcasing itself as the emerging leader in ceramics space and holds the key to the future of this sector. In line with ‘Make in India’ mission, the sector is looking towards promising growth of 200% by the year 2020. We hope that this sector emerges as an ideal for the other sectors to follow and showcase India’s manufacturing capabilities.”

Shri K G Kundariya, Chairman, Vibrant Ceramics 2017, President, Gujarat Granito Manufacturers Association, announcing the curtain raiser said, “We take pride in announcing the Curtain Raiser of the second edition of the Vibrant Ceramics 2017, which will be a landmark in the industry. Shri Nilesh Jetpariya, President, Vibrant Ceramics 2017, President, Morbi Dhuva Glazed Tiles Association laid emphasis on the contribution of the sector on employment generation and expressed, “Ceramics industry, in line with the key agenda of the Government of India of Make in India, Skill India, Swach Bharat Abhiyaan amongst others. It is our constant endeavour to keep innovating and contribute to the country’s economic growth and create further employment across states. At present, we are contributing to close to $ 4 billion in revenues and employ more than 10 lakhs skilled and unskilled personnel.”

The first edition of Vibrant Ceramics held last year witnessed more than 610 foreign delegates from more than 22 countries which is going to be far surpassed this year with participation of over 2500 overseas buyers from 65+ countries. The event witnessed an overall footfall of over one lakh visitors over four days. By the end of the event, the sector saw business worth Rs. 500 crores and a order pipeline of about Rs. 1300 cr.
