Power biz widens GMR Infra loss

Bangalore February 13, 2014:- GMR Infrastructure Ltd’s net loss has widened to ₹441.09 crore on a consolidated basis for the third-quarter of this fiscal, compared with a net loss of ₹217.45 crore recorded in the same period last year.

Revenues were up 10.74 per cent at ₹2,638.35 crore (₹2,382.39 crore). EPS was negative at ₹1.13 (₹0.56). According to GM Rao, Group Chairman, the loss was mainly due to its power business. The commissioning of the second unit of EMCO took place in September 2013, and the second unit of Kamalanga in November. On stabilisation, the performance is expected to improve in the coming quarters, he said.

Airports business

Airport business revenue stood at ₹1,605 crore (₹1,599 crore). Delhi Airport saw a growth of 9 per cent year-on-year in overall passengers, and a growth of 15 per cent in the international segment. Cargo volume increased 9 per cent.

Hyderabad Airport witnessed 5 per cent passenger growth.- Business Line
