Supports‘Digital India’ with a vision to achieve 100% digital literacy among villagers
Jaipur, June 25, 2019: Mahindra World City Jaipur Ltd. (‘MWC Jaipur’), a joint venture between Mahindra Lifespace Developers Limited (MLDL) and Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation (RIICO), today inaugurated aDigital Literacy Centre in nearby Laliya-Ka-Bas village,as part of its CSR efforts to support inclusive development via widespread digital literacy.Laliya-Ka-Bas is home to about 600 inhabitants and is the third village identified by MWC Jaipur for implementation of its community digital literacy program.
The Government of India launched the Digital India campaign in 2015 with a vision to transform India into a digitally empowered knowledge economy.Complementingthe Government’s goal to ensure eachhouse is digitally literate, MWC Jaipur aims to empower the inhabitants of Laliya-Ka-Baswith basic computer and internet skills training.The objective is to introduce the villagers to the power of the digital economy, for use in utilities payments, banking transactions or in connecting to employment opportunities available online, among others. The centre is equipped with the latest infrastructure and training facilities.
