Mahindra Lifespaces conferred with NSC Best Safety Practices Award 2015

Mumbai, November 05, 2015: Mahindra Lifespace Developers Limited (“MLDL”), the real estate and infrastructure development arm of the Mahindra Group, was presented the ‘Shreshtha Suraksha Puraskar’ (2nd prize) for ‘Best Safety Practices in the Construction Industries Group’ at an awards ceremony organised by National Safety Council – Maharashtra Chapter & Directorate Industrial Safety and Health, Govt. of Maharashtra, in Pune on Oct 31st 2015. The award was handed over to Mahindra Lifespaces by Shri Baldev Singh, (IAS) Principal Secretary (Labour), Government of Maharashtra, in recognition of its Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) performance and initiatives. Mahindra Lifespaces was also acknowledged for its effective implementation of innovative OSH management systems, practices & procedures, both within the organisation and its supply chain.

Mahindra Lifespaces has launched ‘Safe Methods and Risk Reduction Techniques’ (SMARRT), a program which implements international best practices and aims to eliminate unsafe acts and conditions by way of proactive and immediate reporting. Built on a reward and recognition platform, MLDL’s SMARRT initiative is led by a group of trained mentors who act as champions to inculcate a culture of identification and pre-emptive reporting of all potentially unsafe situations or events. Additionally, a dedicated EHS (Environmental, Health and Safety) resource at each project site ensures that Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are strictly adhered to, reviewed and improved on an ongoing basis, with active participation from employees, vendors and on-site project managers.
