Kuala Lumpur, Jan 13, 2015 – Foreign investors seeking for information about investing in Nepal can look forward to the inaugural investment summit – the Nepal Investment Summit 2015, which will be held on 27th January 2015 at Pullman Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur for all the answers that they need about the Nepal investment climate.
Hosted by the Embassy of Nepal to Malaysia and jointly organised by Confexhub Group and Full Bright Consultancy (Pvt) Ltd of Nepal, the Nepal Investment Summit 2015 is the first of its series of investment summits planned with objective to bring together potential investors from the region to a platform to understand the key development issues of investing in Nepal; be updated and dialogue with policy makers from Nepal on investment climate and opportunities in Nepal.
The summit themed ‘Investing in the Emerging Nepal’, with focused sectors on power, road, rail, airport and physical infrastructures will cover the following areas:
- Nepal Government’s Economic Priority Sectors and Market Opportunities
- Nepal’s Power, Road, Rail, Airport, Commercial and Residential Properties Sectors Outlook & Opportunities
- Nepal Government’s Energy, Transport Infrastructure, Housing and Social Infrastructure Development Plans
- Foreign Direct Investment Policy
- Legal, Tax and Incentive Structures
- Financing Options for Power and Infrastructure Projects including Hydropower Plants in Nepal
- Available Projects and Acquisition Projects.
The one-day summit will be graced open by the Honorable Dr. Narayan Khadka, the Minister of Urban Development of Nepal with other government officials that will be attending and providing information on investing in Nepal including Prof Dr. Govind Raj Pokhrel, the Vice Chairman of Nepal National Planning Commission; Dr. Yuba Raj Khatiwada, the Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank; Mr. Radhesh Pant, Chief Executive Officer of Investment Board of Nepal; Mr. Tulasi Prasad Situala, Secretary of the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport; Er. According to the organizer, over 200 delegates from the region is expected to converge at this summit to meet face-to-face with the relevant authorities to have better understanding on the investment opportunities, policies and regulations, at the same time to network with the Nepali government officials for their venture in Nepal. Delegates will also be updated with the list of available projects planned by the Nepali government and the acquisition procedure.
