ITC Green Centre, Bengaluru wins Project of the Year award

New Delhi, December 25, 2017: ITC Limited has won the prestigious “Facade Project of the year – Developer” award in the 2017 edition of the Zak Awards for its landmark project, the ITC Green Centre, BengaluruITC’s projects division –  the Central Projects Organisation bagged the coveted award under the ‘commercial’ category for Excellence in Façade & Fenestration.

The prestigious Zak Awards 2017 recognized developers, architects and contractors who have made exemplary contribution to India’s architectural landscape through best in class design & construction.

The winners for the award were decided through a series of intricate rounds and the final awardees were chosen in Mumbai by the grand jury comprising representatives from Hafeez Contractor, Lodha Group, Gleeds, Arup-Singaporeand process advisor Ernst & Young.

ITC Green Centre, Bengaluru is a LEED Platinum rated Green Building pre-certified by the US Green Building Council. It will comprise two towers with a total built up area of 23 lakh square feetand can accommodate about 10,000 seats. The building is expected to be ready for operation by April 2018.

The façade of the ITC Green Centre building in Bengaluru was conceptualized by WS Atkins, detailed in design by RSP/Meinhardt and executed by Alufit India. The east-west orientation of the 202 metre-long building,besidesthe use of high performance, low reflectivity glass and extensive solar shading,will enable energy saving of over 34%, as per the international ASHRAE standards.

The Zak Award for Excellence in Façade & Fenestration is a major international competition that celebrates and promotes the country’s best design and execution in architectural façade and fenestration. The award has emerged as a focal attraction of the Zak World of Façades – an International conference series held in several Asian nations on the subject of façade design & engineering.  This year, the Zak awards received over 300 entries from across the nation and the gala awards ceremony saw a participation of over 600 delegates.
