Mumbai, December 29, 2016: Godrej Properties Limited (GPL) (BSE scrip id: GODREJPRP), one of India’s leading real estate developers, announced that Godrej BKC, its commercial project in Mumbai, has received the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Platinum certification. LEED Platinum certification is globally recognized the highest rating for sustainable buildings. With this achievement, Godrej BKC becomes the only multi- occupant building in BKC, Mumbai’s new commercial center, to be LEED Platinum certified.
At 1.2 lakh square metres (1.3 million square feet), Godrej BKC is one of the largest luxury commercial projects in Mumbai. The building received its occupation certificate in May 2016 and has several marquee tenants.
Continuing with the Godrej Group’s legacy of environmental leadership, this development aspires to be among the most sustainable in the world. Cutting-edge sustainability features throughout the building design ensures that energy requirements are minimized and water is conserved.
Godrej Properties collaborated with several of the world’s most renowned architects and engineering consultants to design this visionary project. Skidmore, Owings and Merrill (SOM), a leading architectural firm that has designed many outstanding developments across the world, including the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa in Dubai and the Freedom Tower in New York, are the lead architects.
Godrej BKC is the third commercial project developed by Godrej Properties to have received the distinction of a LEED Platinum certification. Earlier, Godrej Eternia at Chandigarh and Godrej One at Vikhroli have also received LEED Platinum certification.
Godrej Properties have partnered with Jet Airways for this development.
