Ghaziabad, August 03, 2019: CREDAI (Ghaziabad) started the tree planting drive in Ghaziabad under the state’s ‘Green and clean Ghaziabad’ initiative. The programme to plant 15000 trees started from the main gate of City Forest. Chief Guest for the occasion Kanchan Varma, Vice Chairman, Ghaziabad Development Authority, started the drive to make Ghaziabad cleaner and greener. All the members of CREDAI (Ghaziabad) were present during the programme.
Under the programme trees will be planted and distributed in Raj Nagar Extension, Loni, Crossing Republik, Siddhartha Vihar, Vasundhra, Vaishali, Kanawani, Chiranjeev Vihar, Govindpuram, etc. The plantation stared from Raj Nagar Extension. Variety of plants included neem, mango, arjun, jacarda, and other larger trees. All the plants were bigger than 5 to 6 feet in height. The programme will go on for next few months culminating with the plantation of 15000 trees. Many residential societies also took part in the programme and they were requested to spread environment awareness in their societies also.
Praising the mega plantation drive, Smt. Kanchan Verma, VC, GDA said, “This is a noble initiative by CREDAI and we are confident that many people across the city will join the campaign, which will go long way expanding greenery. Instead of saplings, if we plant 5-6 feet tall trees, the result will be even better.”
CREDAI (Ghaziabad) has vowed to keep the good work going. Gaurav Gupta, president, CREDAI (Ghaziabad), said, “Through this programme we want to spread the message of keeping the environment clean. Society has to understand that by planting trees we will safeguard the future of our generations. It is also important to take care of the planted trees, which can happen when society is aware of its importance.”
Added Ashish Agarwal, Treasurer, CREDAI (Ghaziabad), “It is our responsibility to take this initiative forward. Under this programme we will keep on spreading awareness about environment and distributing trees.”
