This event aimed to bring communities together to raise awareness on environmental issues, inspire society to unite for the planet earth, conserve natural resources and take urgent action to protect biodiversity.
Commenting on the initiative, Mr. Manas Mehrotra, Founder, 315Work Avenue said, “The only way forward is to work with nature, not against it. We must realize that initiatives and efforts at local and individual levels can have a global impact. Our planet is going through an unprecedented environmental crisis caused by global warming. Tree-planting has become the cornerstone of many environmental campaigns in recent years and is seen as an effective way to help reduce the impact of carbon emissions and restore natural ecosystems. Bengaluru has lost majority of its green cover in the last few years. Hence collective effort is required on a day to day basis to salvage the situation by renewing Bengaluru’s green cover. As 315Work Avenue, we have always strived to be one among nature and used sustainable products in our process wherever possible. We are also LEED Platinum certified, a green building certification program used worldwide. LEED certified buildings improve efficiency, lower carbon emissions and create healthier places for people.”
World Environment Day highlights the urgent need to take corrective measures to safeguard our planet. Greenhouse gas emissions due to human activity are raising global temperatures to unsafe levels. Hence people need to make environmentally conscious decisions to contribute the transition to a greener future.
