Arun Prasad is an Architect-Planner based in Coimbatore, Tamilnadu; having more than 17 years of multidisciplinary consulting experience in the fields of Architecture and Planning. He is a gold medalist from SPA, Delhi where he pursued Masters Degree in Planning (Housing), after completing his undergraduate degree from Manipal Institute of Technology.
He established Arun & Associates, Coimbatore in 1998 which employs over 20 qualified persons and offers services in Architecture, Structures, Planning and Interiors. With projects completed and ongoing in various parts of South India and South Africa, his designs are primarily conceptualized based on an intuitive approach.
As an Architect, he has been involved in designing many residences, commercial developments, institutions, industries and public buildings. He recently completed an institutional project, Sri Nachiammal Vidyavani, Avinashi which was entirely conceived and executed by means of modern pre-cast technology & completed in a record time of 5 months.
The office’s works have been subject to literary purview widely in the Indian Architecture scene. Ar. Arun was selected as one-in-nine ‘Young Designers 2011’ by the Indian Architect & Builder Magazine. The ‘Introvert House’- a residential project in Karur was featured in a coffee table book titled ’50 beautiful Houses’ by White Flag Publications.
Professional Affiliations: He is a member of the City Technical Advisory Group (CTAG) for the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM) for Coimbatore. He was the Chairman of Indian Institute of Architects, Coimbatore Center (IIA-CC) from 2010-2013. Apart from his office schedule, Ar. Arun takes time out to be an academician too. He has been a member of Board of Studies, Anna University, Coimbatore (2010-2013).
He is currently Visiting Faculty, Faculty of Architecture, Manipal Academy of Higher Education.
