NPCCL to develop residential quarters for officials of Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs

New Delhi: The National Projects Construction Corporation Limited (NPCCL) is constructing 256 residential quarters for officials of Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs in Sector 9, Dwarka, New Delhi. The residential project costing Rs 211 crore will be completed within 34 months.
 
The department of revenue got the land measuring 17832 square meters for the purpose of institutional housing to meet the accomodation requirement and guest house cum transit hostel along with community facilities of its officials.
 
Chairman of Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs, S Ramesh said the board has appointed NPCC as its project management consultant to get the project designed and construction with quality control. “It was a long pending demand for residential accommodation for the officers. He further announced that the department should explore the possibilities to come up with more projects to cater the demand for accommodation” he added.
 
Speaking on the occasion of foundation stone laying for the project, CMD of NPCC, Manohar Kumar said the time period for getting the project executed and handed over to the department is before August 2021. The land was initially alloted by the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) to Central Board of Direct Taxes, later on it was transferred to Central Board of Indirect Taxes in 1996.  He also said that this project will be an iconic and tallest building in Dwarka.
