New Delhi, February 27, 2018: Timothy Oulton unveils its 2018 Collection, once again pushing the boundaries and showcasing its unique sourcing and craftsmanship capabilities. Cultivated by hand, the new collection features pieces handmade over countless hours using simple tools and beautiful materials, and testifies to Timothy Oulton’s passion for traditional handcraftsmanship, hard-to-come-by materials, and its fearless quest for innovation.
Also new this year, Timothy Oulton’s Faded & Degraded ‘Persia in Decline’ velvet is featured for the first time on the Westminster Button sofa, bringing a contemporary rock and roll edge to the classic Chesterfield- inspired design.
The 2018 Collection features many complex designs that are realised through thousands of hours of hand labour. The limited edition Hestia dining table dramatically anchors a room with its laser-cut black marble top filled with golden veins of liquid brass. For casually sophisticated interiors, new table designs in white marble usher a sense of calm, including the Junction Marble dining table and console, and Expanse extending dining table. Craftsmen painstakingly cut the marble thinly enough to ensure the pieces are lightweight and functional, whilst retaining a powerful feeling of solidity.
Genuine English reclaimed timber is given new life in the Vestige cabinetry collection, featuring timber offcuts laid by hand in an eye-catching geometric pattern. The wood is salvaged from buildings in the United Kingdom up to a century old, and de-nailed by hand in the Timothy Oulton workshop.
Sensations and experiences form the backbone of every Timothy Oulton design, it’s not just how something looks but also how it feels that is so important. New Tomahawk leather is supremely soft and tactile against the skin, taking its cue from the velvety softness of rose petals. Tomahawk features on the new Lux sectional sofa and Rally chair.
With over 40 galleries worldwide from Los Angeles to Amsterdam and in the grandeur of Harrods in London, Timothy Oulton continues its plan of opening new stores in the world’s great cities, with recent additions including New Delhi and Seoul. Further openings are planned for 2018. Read more
