New Delhi, September 23, 2020: Riding on the wave of strategic location, infrastructural developments and vibrant social infrastructure, New Gurugram has emerged as a real estate hub for the burgeoning millennial population. The region of New Gurugram comprises sectors along the upcoming Dwarka-Gurgaon Expressway – Sectors 102 to 113 and Sectors 76 to 95 & 95A. The region is well connected to Delhi, Manesar (Haryana) and Neemrana (Rajasthan).
The three highways- Kundli–Manesar–Palwal(KMP) Expressway and Dwarka Expressway and Delhi-Gurgaon(NH 48) Expressway are major spokes of connectivity. The opening of Hero Honda Chowk flyover and Southern Peripheral Road have improved connectivity which is set to go several notches higher with the opening of the Gurugram-Faridabad metro rail link. As of now, New Gurugram is well-connected to Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi Railway Station and Huda City Centre Metro Station.
The proposed underpass at Vatika Chowk that is slated to open by 2022, will be a huge breather to commuters. The development will supplement the under-construction Sohna elevated road corridor between Sohna and Rajiv Chowk. This 21-kilometre signal-free corridor is expected to reduce travel time between Alwar and Gurugram by an hour. Another underpass is proposed at the intersection of Sector 55 and Sector 56. Both of them, along with the shifting of the Kherki Daula toll by early 2021 will ease congestion and facilitate a seamless movement of traffic.
The revamping of Southern Peripheral Road(SPR) will also be a boon for residents. The project comprises the construction of three flyovers at Rajesh Pilot Chowk, Tigra Mod, and the four-lane intersection between Sectors 49 and 50 and Sectors 65 and 66, widening of the Ghata -Vatika Chowk from four lanes to six lanes and refurbishment of the road surface. The project will enable a complete makeover of SPR into an arterial road and facilitate hassle-free movement on NH-48.
The inauguration of a cloverleaf interchange at the intersection of Central Peripheral Road (CPR) and Southern Peripheral Road (SPR) by the end of this year will allow traffic to move between the SPR and Dwarka Expressway, (also known as the Northern Peripheral Road (NPR), bypassing the Delhi-Gurugram Expressway (NH-48).
These developments along with the establishment of multiple centres of excellence under the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) will herald a dramatic socio-economic transformation of the region. It will also boost employment opportunities, push up real estate prices and have a cascading effect on ancillary sectors.
