Luminaries from Field of Architecture and Design Converge at Ansal University’s 3-day International Conference and Workshop Revolution by Design

British High Commissioner to India inaugurates event organized by Sushant School of Art and Architecture and Sushant School of Design

Gurgaon, Haryana, India, Monday, March 11, 2013 — (Business Wire India) — Ansal University , Gurgaon, an autonomous university dedicated to providing advanced trans disciplinary education is hosting a 3-day annual international conference and workshop titled Revolution by Design organized by the Sushant School of Art and Architecture and Sushant School of Design . His Excellency Sir James Bevan, the British High Commissioner to India inaugurated the event today. The keynote address was delivered by Sir Christopher Frayling, a world renowned eminent design thinker and ex-Rector of the Royal College of Art, London.

The three conference to be held from March 11- 13 will be attended by leading architects and designers from across the globe. It will be steered by a series of short lectures by industry experts from around the world, These include well known names like Raj Rewal, SK Das, Aditya Dev Sood, Sunita Kohli, Ashish Ganju and others.

Speaking about the conference theme, Prof. Mike Kowles, Dean, Sushant School of Design states , ” Revolution by Design centers its energy on The Third Industrial Revolution (TIR) focusing on the role that design thinking and design pedagogy will play in bringing on the changes. Continuing to merge the talents of designers, engineers and technologists to work together in developing new solution to old problems is a necessity today. We hope that the views of the luminaries present at the conference will shape the minds of our talented young students.”

The lecture series will be followed by practical workshops on traditional and modern making. Karen Richmond, head of the BA 3D program at Camberwell College of Art and Design, the University of the Arts ‘makers school’ will run trans disciplinary workshops aided by 4 of her students from London.
