New Delhi, August 25, 2017: According to a report by Colliers International, there are more than 160 players in the co-working space who run more than 350 operational centres across tier-1 and tier-2 cities in the country. Co-working operators leased about 1.2 million sq ft in 2016 and accounted for 3% of the overall leasing volume. Co-working operators are making their presence felt due to large leases, indicating huge expansion plans.

Property developers are investing more and more in the spaces as the concept of co-working spaces grows in the industry. The Harvard Business Journal found that 71% of coworkers say they are more creative in a coworking space, 68% say they are better able to focus, 64% indicate they can complete tasks in a timelier manner and 62% report their standard of work is higher.

Start-ups and entrepreneurs now are openly accepting this innovative idea which is probably the start of real estate transformation. Coworking fills this void for many, and its ability to foster community and relationships might just be what leads this relatively new industry to long-term success.
