Ghaziabad, April 01, 2018: The members of Antriksh Sanskriti Welfare Association (ASWA) have decided to hold a massive protest and demonstration on the morning of April 1, 2018 against Antriksh Realtech Pvt Ltd for its failure in handing over the possession of the under-construction residential project despite a lapse of eight years. To add to the woes of homebuyers, the project has now been sealed due to non-payment of developmental charges to the tune of Rs 42 crore to the Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA).

It may be noted that the Antriksh Group, in collaboration with the Raksha Vigyan Karamchari Sahkari Awas Samiti, had in 2010 launched a group housing project under the name ‘Antriksh Sanskriti’ on 12 acres of land near Hindon River next to Indirapuram along NH-24 on the Ghaziabad side. The developer had promised to hand over the possession of flats under this project in 2013-14, but till date the project is far from complete.

According to the  ASWA, “The developer has not only violated the terms and conditions of the Builder-Buyer Agreement but also caused severe financial difficulties to homebuyers who are forced to pay the EMIs of bank loans as well as rentals for their leased accommodations. Most of the buyers have already paid 90%-95% of the amount (Rs 30 lakh to Rs 60 lakh per flat) to the builder. This is in also in gross violation of the norms of the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016 (RERA) that stipulate stringent punishment against inordinate delay in project delivery.”

The homebuyers association added that the district administration too has not taken into account the interests of homebuyers, otherwise it would have tried to find some other ways to recover its dues than the routine act of sealing the project, bringing the construction to a complete halt at the project site. “Why should the poorhomebuyers suffer if GDA fails to recover its dues from the Raksha Vigyan Samiti or builder? After all, the interests of homebuyers are supreme under RERA, and cannot be brushed aside by GDA or any government authority,” added the ASWA.

“The state government headed by Hon’ble Shri Yogi Adityanath Jiisurgently required to intervene to revive the project and ensure delivery of flats to the homebuyers who have exhausted their lifetime savings in aspiring to get a roof over their heads,” concluded the homebuyers under the banner of ASWA.
