New Delhi, February 13, 2021: The Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) has finalised the detailed project report (DPR) of the 13-kilometre coastal road from Kharegaon to Gaimukh, an alternate to the Ghodbunder road that will aid in easing out the congestion in the city of Thane. Dr. Niranjan Hiranandani, Co-Founder and MD, Hiranandani Group, said, “With Thane’s real estate development being on the fast track, Ghodbunder Road has been among the ideal locations for residential and commercial real estate growth over the past few years. Slew of infrastructure growth has scripted Thane’s evolution into a preferred residential destination and also suburban business district attracting corporates to relocate and consolidate their office spaces. The enhanced connectivity covers practically a wide gamut of transport options, ensuring that Thane evolves into a central link for different regions in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR). While water transport, linking Vasai and Bhayander through Thane to Kalyan and Navi Mumbai will offer a new transport option, Alibaug –Virar multi modal corridor, the tunnel through the National Park linking Thane with western suburbs at Borivali will reduce time taken to access Mumbai’s western suburbs by road. The different Metro lines will provide ease of commute to South Mumbai and MMR regions. This additional connectivity will facilitate ease of living for rising residential density and influx of working populace”.
