Prima Facie the proposed grading system is a welcome step as it will help buyers to differentiate between good developers and bad ones, good projects and not so great projects. But the key is how it will be implemented. Sometimes construction activities get stalled for no fault of developers. For instance, the construction ban imposed by NGT due to pollution or current ban on activities due to countrywide lock down. As such, developers’ point of view should be factored in as well before providing a grade to a developer or a project. A fair and just methodology will help all the stakeholders”.
Deepak Kapoor, Director, Gulshan Homz
The move will certainly help buyers in choosing right developer and right projects. The move will also prompt developers to improve their functioning, which will be extremely beneficial for sector in the long run. The key will be however how the entire process is implemented. The success of grading will ultimately depend on it.
