‘Luminare’ by Mahindra Lifespaces conferred CIDC Vishwakarma award

Delhi, March 14, 2016: Mahindra Lifespace Developers Limited (“MLDL”), the real estate and infrastructure development arm of the Mahindra Group, was presented the ‘Achievement Award for Construction Health, Safety & Environment’ for its project Luminare at the 8th CIDC (Construction Industry Development Council) Vishwakarma Awards 2016. The award was handed over to Mahindra Lifespaces by Shri R.K. Mathur, (IAS) Chief Information Commissioner, in recognition of the company’s Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) performance and initiatives undertaken at the site of its project Luminare in Gurgaon.

Commenting on the occasion, Ramesh Ranganathan, Business Head, North and West, Mahindra Lifespaces, said, “We are delighted to receive this prestigious award from CIDC within a year of commencement of Luminare. EHS initiatives and best practices adopted at Luminare include:

1. ‘Safe Methods and Risk Reduction Techniques’ (SMARRT), a program which implements international best practices and aims to eliminate unsafe acts and conditions by way of proactive and immediate reporting

2. Dust suppression measures

3. Regular soil, water, noise and air quality monitoring

4. Construction waste reduction and re-use

5. Special measures for preservation of top soil

6. Health check-ups and immunization programs

7. A safety park

8. Implementation of an innovative slope protection system

9. Weatherproof electrical distribution works and equipment

10. And a rewards and recognition program.

Luminare a luxury project by Mahindra Lifespaces offers well-appointed residences across 3 towers of G+30 floors each. The project is spread across 6.8 acres and located at Sector 59, Golf Course Extension Road, Gurgaon.

The CIDC Vishwakarma Awards are organised by CIDC, a joint establishment of the Planning Commission, Government of India and the Indian construction industry. The awards aim to promote best practices in the Indian real estate and construction industry.
