Bengaluru, November 08, 2017: Legacy Developers from the Developer team & Concentrix from the IT team have emerged victorious from the16 teams that played today at the first day matches of CCT 2017. The cricket matches were played at St John’s Medical College Grounds, Koramangala. IT team winner Concentrix won by 4 wickets and scored 44 runs; Developer team winner Legacy won by 17 runs.
The other Developer teams who played were Axis Concept Construction Pvt Ltd, Bren Corporation, Century Real Estate Holdings Pvt Ltd, Chartered Housing Pvt Ltd, Golden Gate properties Ltd, Greystone Homes LLP & Mahaveer group(Reddy StructuresPvt. Ltd). The other IT teams who played were AJG, Altimetrik, Arctern, Bank Bazaar.com, Beckman, BlueOcean Market Intelligence Pvt Ltd & Borderless Access.
The tournament which will be played over four weekends starting from November 4th, has 32 top IT/ITeS companies and 32 CREDAI Developer members and their associates participating. Four winners will emerge every weekend, two from the IT/ITES team and the other two from the developer’s team. The tournament marks the beginning of a month long event that is proposed to be held year after year. The Championship Trophy that the winner will take home at the end of these matches will not only mark the performance of the best team but also serve as the platform that will forge relationships between professionals hailing from various sectors.
Kapil Mohan IAS & Principal Secretary Dept. of Housing and Chief RERA, Govt of Karnataka inaugurated amidst much fanfare. Addressing the gathering he said, “I am an avid sports enthusiast. During my college days I used to play cricket. If I did not have work today, I would have played too.” Mohan added in a lighter vein, “I would be a perfect umpire between the potential buyers and Developers”.
Welcoming the gathering, Mr Errol Fernandes, Treasurer CREDAI – Bengaluru and Chairman CCT 2017, stated that the event offered a unique platform for showcasing talent. “Sports has always served as a means of binding people together and this event is no different. The event will encourage fostering of new relations outside of a boardroom, proving to be mutually beneficial.” Referring to cricket as a gentleman’s game, Fernandes told the participants to “play the game in the right spirit.”
Concurring that sport brings people together regardless of boundaries, Ashish Puravankara, President CREDAI Bengaluru added, “The relations forged today hopefully will last many more years to come. Like Kapil Mohan rightfully said, it is a good decision to bring together prospective buyers and Developers.”
Lauding the tournament and the participants during vote of thanks, Mr Adarsh Narahari, Secretary CREDAI Bengaluru said, “Cricket has been known for its unifying abilities and what better way of fostering good relationship between professionals across sectors than a good game of cricket.”The other dignitaries present at the dias were Mr Nagaraj R , Mentor CREDAI Karnataka , CMD Zonasha Projects, Mr. Anil Nayak CEO, CREDAI Bengaluru & Mr. Ravindra.D.Hitnalli , Asst General Manager, State Bank of India.
The winner will receive a cash award of Rs 1 lakh plus a trophy, runners up will receive Rs 50,000 and a trophy, second runners up will receive Rs 25000 and a trophy. Besides these are individual prizes comprising of man of the match, best batsman of the tournament, best bowler of the tournament and the grand CCT Man of the Tournament.
