KSA emerges as Middle East’s largest construction market

SAR 3.75 trillion worth of domestic development & infrastructure projects planned or under way

Dubai, Oct 17, 2015: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s (KSA) construction industry is expected to continue its growth in the next few years with the value of projects planned and under way estimated to be over SAR 3.75 trillion. This encompasses several sectors, including transport, infrastructure, utilities, education and healthcare, reflecting the prioritization of upgrades to local roads, rail, port and airports along with other facilities in order to attract private investment. To complement the growth and development across the KSA, the government has made its largest allocation for the 2015 budget toward the transport and infrastructure sector of SAR 630 billion.

One of the key projects in focus in the KSA is the rail and road project that includes Riyadh Metro, Dammam Rail, Haramain Rail, Makkah Railway, and Saudi – Bahrain Causeway. Airport construction and upgrades, including work on Riyadh’s King Khaled International Airport and Jeddah’s King Abdul Aziz International Airport as well as construction of new airports in Madinah and Abha Governorates, is another vital segment. Lastly, the upgrading of existing roads and building of new ones across the KSA along with infrastructure projects in the industrial cities of Jubail, Yanbu and Ras al Khair is also the part of the ongoing development.

Amid the ongoing development projects in KSA, and as a part of UFI, the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry, Saudi Build 2015 will highlight a wide range of leading building products and cutting-edge technologies. The important segments that will be covered at the event include Aluminium Frames and Structures; Architectural Finishing Products; Building Materials, Ceramic Tiles; Concrete Products and Precast Structures; Construction Systems, Engineering and Design Services; Environment Protection Equipment; Landscaping and Garden Ornaments;

Security and Safety Tools and Systems; Water and Heat Insulation; and Steel and Wood Products, among others.

Saudi Build 2015 will be held concurrently with Saudi Stone-Tech 2015 – the 18th International Stone and Stone Technology Exhibition and Saudi Build PMV Series – the 16th International Exhibition for Construction Equipment, Factories, Machinery and Vehicles. Saudi Stone-Tech 2015 will feature products ranging from marble slabs, granite, natural stone, mosaic, modern and most sophisticated computerized stone cutting machines to quarrying machinery, blades, and slates. Saudi Build PMV Series offers a major platform for participants to network with industry leaders while conducting business and sales.

Saudi Build 2015, the 27th International Construction Technology and Building Materials Exhibition, will open on October 26, 2015 and continue until October 29, 2015 to provide contractors, real estate developers and building owners with a full range of building solutions.
