Kitchen design trends to watch for in 2016

Bengaluru, May 18, 2016: The demand for a stylish modular kitchen is no longer limited to the affluent homeowner segment but has also gained popularity among the mid-income families. The demand among homeowners for more open spaces could see designers make changes in structuring the kitchen spaces with hi-tech makeover workstations having state-of-the-art hardware essentials. The year could also see kitchens changing to 80s glam and muted colour schemes, be it everything from cabinets to back splashes. Homeowners could also opt for brass with satin rather than shiny finishes. Last y ar’s biggest trend- metallic finishes, be it copper, brass or bronze, could be used this year as well in faucets and cabinet pulls. In 2016, metal will assume a more dominant role in kitchen aesthetics and wood mantel hood could be replaced with metal hoods. The demand for integrated kitchen and living spaces could also rise among homeowners.
