New Delhi, October 05, 2018: Sagar Associates (JSA)advised and assistedPune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (“PMRDA”),Government of Maharashtra in connection with the USD 1.2 billion (approx.) Pune Metro Line III (Hinjewadi-Shivajinagar) Project (“Project”) to be developed on DBFOT basis. The Project is awarded to Trill Urban Transport Private Limited and Siemens Project Ventures GmbH consortium. It is the first metro rail project being developed under the Metro Rail Policy of 2017.
As the legal adviser, JSA assisted and advised PMRDA regarding various legal issues pertaining to the Metro Rail Policy 2017, Transit Oriented Development (“TOD”), bid documents including project structuring and drafting of the concession agreement. JSA’s team also represented PMRDA before the Empowered Committee of Government of India and the Executive Committee of Government of Maharashtra for the Project approval.
The JSA team comprised Partners – Venkatesh Raman Prasad and Vishnu Sudarsan, who provided strategic guidance and inputs & Ashish Suman, who anchored the transaction and lead the interactions with the counterpart team members; Principal Associate – Shashank Vikram Singh, who was involved in the finalization of the bid documents;Senior Associate – G.S. Kartikeya, who was involved in preparation of the bid documents and provided public policy perspective; and Associate – Srishti Moitra, who was involved in preparation of the first draft of the bid documents, coordination and research on legal queries.
