Hotel categories to star at the 2019 PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards

Singapore, July 22,2019: Singapore’s biggest and most prestigious real estate award series, PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards (Singapore), is back in its ninth year. It will celebrate the extraordinary achievements of hoteliers in three categories under the Development Award and Design Award series – Best Hotel Development, Best Hotel Architectural Design and Best Hotel Interior Design.

The PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards have an unparalleled reputation for being credible, fair and transparent. Winners will be selected by an independent panel of industry experts, including Kristin Thorsteins, Vice President (Development) for East & South Asia at Club Med, global leading operator of upscale, all-inclusive resorts. Hotel developments completed between January 2018 and December 2023 will be eligible for the awards.

“With hotel guests spoilt for choice and more alternatives such as co-living coming on to the market, it is important for hoteliers to look for new and cutting-edge ways continuously to attract and retain hotel guests. We have seen more hotels adopting boutique concepts and technology to differentiate their properties. The Awards are an opportunity for us to recognise the hotel industry’s milestones,” said Kristin Thorsteins.

The hotel sector is a critical part of Singapore’s tourism industry, which has continued to perform well over the past year. Tourism arrivals in 2018 reached the highest levels for the third year running, with 18.5 million visitors. Demand for hotel rooms has consequently increased but the space remains competitive.

“The Awards will recognise the extraordinary in the real estate industry. The awards ceremony on 4 October 2019 will be a culmination of many months of hard work, beginning with the rigorous nomination process through to the supervised site inspections and deliberations by the independent panel of judges. We want to take this opportunity to invite nominations to recognise design, development and innovation in the real estate industry” said Jules Kay, Director of PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards.

Nominations for Awards close on Friday, 9 August 2019, and interested participants may submit their nominations at the PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards (Singapore) website. Site inspections will take place from 26 August to 6 September 2019, with the final judging on 12 September 2019.

Finalists will be invited to the 9th PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards (Singapore) gala dinner and awards presentation ceremony. Held at the St. Regis Singapore on Friday, 4 October 2019, the occasion will be attended by more than 300 guests and VIPs. It is an exclusive event for shortlisted developers, sponsors and partners. These include C-level and senior industry figures in real estate development, property consultancy, construction, marketing, property technology, legal, finance and architecture and design.
