Home buyers Felicitated and Resolution passed adopting future strategy for homebuyers

Ghaziabad, June 01, 2019: The Forum for People’s Collective Efforts (FPCE), honoured 15 buyers fighting against the non-delivery of their flats by developers on various platforms like RERA, Consumer Forums, Courts, Social Media etc. During this function, strategies were also devised to curb builders’ malpractices and facilitate homebuyers in their struggle to get a roof over their heads. Abhay Upadhyay, president, FPCE, formerly known as “Fight for RERA”, said that the forum had identified such buyers across the country, who have waged a long crusade against builders.

The buyers, felicitated during the function, included Surendra Kumar, Amit Gupta, Shilpi, Vishal Duggal and Meeta Duggal, who narrated the story of their struggle in a resolute voice. During this time, many dignitaries including retired Lieutenant General SK Bahri, FPCE functionaries Abhay Upadhyay, Colonel TPS Tyagi, Major General Ranjit Singh, and MK Seth were present.

During the function, the following proposals were also passed as part of future strategies to save homeboys:

1) Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) should prepare guidelines for both developers and homebuyers to eliminate corruption in the real estate sector and reduce litigation. For this, investment in ready-to-move properties should be encouraged.

2) The MoHUA should ensure that homeowners get the benefits of the RERA orders within 90 days from the date of their passage. In this connection, the Central Government should establish a proper mechanism in consultation with the concerned State Governments.

During the function, Lieutenant General Bahri said that this is a unique initiative made by the FPCE and it will certainly give very necessary moral support to homebuyers in their struggle against unscrupulous developers.

FPCCI president Abhay Upadhyay reiterated the demand of declaring March 10 as the Homebuyers’ Day so that every year all-India meetings could be held.

FPCE vice-president Col TP Tyagi said that homebuyers are facing difficulties in executing orders of RERA. The FPCEwill ensure that MoHUA takes effective measures to implement the proposals passed during the function.
