GroupDCA awarded for two projects at IIID Design Excellence National Awards 2017-2018

New Delhi, April 22, 2018: Group DCA is an award-winning design consultation firm based out of New Delhi. The DCA Group is spearheaded by Ar. Amit Aurora and Ar. Rahul Bansal. The practice was recently awarded in two categories at the IIID National Awards. While the studio won the first prize in “Leisure & Entertainment Category“ for The Townhall in Gurugram; The L’Oreal Training Academy in New Delhi was awarded runner-up in “Institutional category“.

1. Townhall, Gurugram – Winner

Category – Leisure & Entertainment

Brief: The design of the restaurant successfully reinforces the legacy of the Townhall brand within a contemporary locale — crafting a unique identity while carrying the tradition forward. A strong focus on addressing site challenges and optimizing functionality defines its planning scheme: the octagonal layout represents an intention to recreate a large, emblematic, central public space to bestow the space with an archetypal classical character.

2. L’Oreal Training Academy, New Delhi – Runner Up

Category – Institutional

Brief: The L’Oreal Training Academy in Delhi provides a state-of-the-art space for the education of hair and beauty professionals. The Indian counterpart of an international chain, the Academy is consciously enabled with local crafts, materials, and construction technologies. The design solution is marked by a highly effective zoning scheme: it crafts largely transformative and multi-functional spaces that blend together seamlessly, creating a benchmark in the design of technical centers.
