Utilize the time at home to take care of your health and build your natural immunity while maintaining your positive energy.  Ergonomic seating for the home seating is a way for individuals to know that when they take a break and decide to relax they avoid fatigue, muscle strain, and cramps.Amidst the long hours of work, it is also crucial to keep an eye on your posture.”

The newly released ‘Posture’ guide shared the following tips with the modern day professionals:

While sitting on a chair and desk

It may be a good idea to invest in ergonomic chair and work desk that support different postures throughout the day. The chair that you invest in should have adjustable features like seat heights, armrest and backrest adjustments to ensure maximum comfort, also having excellent lumbar support that is adjustable to keep your back well supported.

  • Adjust the height of your chair and rest your feet on the floor or the footrest. Bend your knees at 90 degrees to relieve the excess pressure out of your back
  • Take proper lumbar support to keep your back straight
  • It may be a good idea to invest in ergonomic chair and work desk that support different postures throughout the day. The chair that you invest in should have adjustable features like seat heights, armrest and backrest adjustments to ensure maximum comfort, also having excellent lumbar support that is adjustable to keep your back well supported.
  • Ensure your arms are always supported, either on the desk or the chair armrest – with elbows bent at 90 degrees while typing on the keyboard
  • If you don’t have a chair with good back support, you should take breaks or change your posture after every 20 minutes

While standing & working

It’s also a good idea to stand and work to vary your work posture. You may use a storage cabinet as your standing workstation. The more regularly you change your posture, the better you will feel.

While standing

  • Place your laptop on a hard surface Ÿ Adjust the height of your laptop screen such that the screen top is at your eye level
  • Don’t slouch or lower your back
  • Keep your laptop away from any kind of liquid to prevent spills

While sitting on the sofa or bed

Of course, working on the bed, sofa or the bean bag can be quite attractive. While it’s okay to use these for a short period, remember not to forget the basics of good posture.

  • Place cushions behind your back to help you get right support
  • Place cardboard or a stand beneath the laptop to keep it steady
  • Adjust the height of the laptop to keep the screen parallel to your eye level
  • Avoid slouching or lowering your neck while working

Use Your Laptop Safely

It natural to pick a comfortable spot while working on the laptop at home. Given that you will end up working for long hours, maintaining the correct posture becomes crucial. It is recommended that you opt for a laptop stand and set up your system in a way that the screen is raised to the height of your eyebrows. You should also use a wireless mouse and a keyboard, if possible, to keep the screen at your arm’s length while typing.

Keep Moving

Working from home means there is a chance for you to become more sedentary. You no longer have to walk over to the conference room or take a post-lunch casual walk around the premises. While at home, ensure you take breaks to move around a bit. Try to walk around a bit while you are on the phone. Socialize a bit, as you would do if you were in office. Micro-breaks are great productivity boosters and also prevent you from staying seated all day.

Exercise Regularly

Even if you can’t go to the gym, make sure you work out regularly, stretch your muscles, and keep yourself fit and healthy at all times. It’s very important to get as much movement into your day as possible and avoid being sedentary. You can try some freehand exercises and stretches. Do crunches, push-ups, squats, and leg lifts in the morning to feel energetic throughout the day. Not only will it help you stay physically fit but also increase your productivity by improving mental clarity and focus.

Shoulder Raises

This exercise is a great way to relieve the tension in your neck

  • Step 1: Raise your shoulders up to your ear
  • Step 2: Hold for 10 seconds, and relax
  • For an even bigger stretch, do it for just one shoulder at a time, and then alternate five times on each side.

Leg Planks

  • Step 1: Sit to the edge of your chair with your knees bent and feet on the floor
  • Step 2: Gently extend your right leg out in front of you until it’s straight and parallel to the floor
  • Do the exercise five times on each leg.
  • Step 3: Hold the pose for 10 seconds, release, and repeat with your other leg

Chair Dip

  • Step 1: While seated, place your hands on the armrest of your chair/sofa/bed and move your bottom to the front of your seat
  • Step 2: Slowly straighten your arms and lift your body off the chair, then hold for 10 seconds. Relax and get back to the starting position

RBI Holds Repo Rate at 5.25%; Realty Industry Sees Stability as Growth Driver The Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) decision to maintain the repo rate at 5.25% and retain its ‘neutral’ monetary policy stance in the third bi-monthly Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting of FY27 has elicited a measured response from the real estate industry. While the sector had hoped for a rate cut to further enhance home loan affordability and stimulate housing demand, industry leaders believe the RBI’s decision reflects a balanced approach amid elevated global uncertainties, volatile energy prices, and inflationary concerns. They noted that stable interest rates will continue to support buyer confidence, provide financial predictability for developers, and sustain the momentum witnessed in the residential real estate market. Mr. Kamlesh Thakur, President, NAREDCO Maharashtra “The RBI’s decision to maintain the repo rate at 5.25% while retaining a neutral stance reflects a prudent approach amid global uncertainties and evolving inflation dynamics. While the industry was hopeful of a rate cut, policy stability itself provides confidence to both developers and homebuyers. With borrowing costs remaining unchanged, housing demand is expected to continue its momentum, particularly in the mid-income and premium segments. The upward revision of India’s GDP growth projection to 6.7% underscores the resilience of the domestic economy. Going forward, as inflation moderates in line with the RBI’s expectations, there could be room for a more accommodative monetary policy. A future rate cut would further improve housing affordability, strengthen buyer sentiment, and accelerate investments across the residential and commercial real estate sectors.” Mr. Kaushal Agarwal, Chairman, The Guardians Real Estate Advisory “The RBI’s decision to keep the repo rate unchanged brings continuity and predictability to the market at a time when global geopolitical developments and inflationary pressures continue to create uncertainty. Stable interest rates ensure that home loan EMIs remain broadly unchanged, allowing prospective buyers to make informed purchasing decisions without concerns over rising borrowing costs. The Indian housing market has demonstrated remarkable resilience over the past few years, supported by strong end-user demand, rising incomes, and growing confidence in the economy. With GDP growth projected at 6.7%, we expect housing demand to remain healthy across key micro-markets.” Mr. Shilpin Tater, Managing Director, Superb Realty “The RBI’s decision to maintain the repo rate is a balanced move considering the current global economic environment and domestic inflation outlook. Policy stability is particularly important for the real estate sector as it enables developers to plan projects with greater financial certainty while allowing buyers to benefit from stable lending rates. Demand for quality residential & commercial developments, especially in well-connected urban locations, is expected to remain robust. We remain optimistic that supportive monetary measures in the future could further strengthen investment activity.” Ms. Shraddha Kedia-Agarwal, Director, Transcon Developers “The RBI has adopted a measured and responsible approach by maintaining the repo rate while closely monitoring inflationary trends and global developments. Although a rate cut would have enhanced affordability for homebuyers, the decision to maintain stability provides confidence to both consumers and developers in an uncertain macroeconomic environment. The premium and luxury housing segments continue to witness healthy demand driven by aspirational buyers and strong wealth creation, while the broader residential market remains supported by genuine end-user demand. Stable financing costs, coupled with India’s improving growth outlook, should sustain market momentum.” Mr. Dhruman Shah, Promoter, Ariha Group “The RBI’s decision to keep the repo rate unchanged reflects its focus on balancing growth with inflation management amidst ongoing global uncertainties. For the real estate sector, policy continuity is a positive outcome as it preserves financial stability and ensures that financing conditions remain predictable for both developers and homebuyers. Stable interest rates, combined with sustained infrastructure investments and urbanization, will continue to support residential sales.”
