Mr. Pradeep Aggarwal, Founder and Chairman, Signature Global (India) Ltd.

Conceptualised under the ambit of the ground-breaking Bharatmala Initiative, the much awaited 29 km mega infrastructure NH-248BB, popularly known as Dwarka Expressway or NPR, is all set to revolutionise the entire Delhi-NCR region and unlock its vast potential for growth and development.  The Dwarka Expressway which is being constructed with an estimated budget of Rupees 10,000 Cr is a landmark in modern transformation and more than just a road, stands as a testament to visionary planning and execution, filling our nation with pride.

The project is being executed in four phases, with each phase contributing to the overall development of the expressway. The completion of these phases will lead to improved interconnectivity, smoother traffic flow, and better accessibility for commuters. As of now, significant progress has been made on the Dwarka Expressway. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is conducting a safety audit for packages three and four in Gurugram, with the anticipated opening of the highway by January 2024. The Gurugram section is nearly 99% complete and expected to facilitate its opening soon. Additionally, packages one and two in Delhi are set to partially open by January 2024, with the entire expressway expected to be fully operational by August 2024.

Unleashing the Potential of Real Estate

Dwarka Expressway nears inauguration, marking a milestone for Gurugram’s real estate. The 29-kilometre expressway links Gurugram and Delhi, cutting travel time and boosting connectivity to key areas. Anticipated demand surge along the route is set to escalate property prices, drawing local and national homebuyers. The strategic location acts as a catalyst, spurring development and attracting businesses. The Gurgaon section’s inauguration is poised to attract substantial domestic and international investments, enhancing infrastructure and making Gurgaon an appealing investment hub. This collaborative effort promises not only real estate growth but also boosts ancillary industries, generating jobs and improving overall quality of life. Investors, seize the opportunities on Dwarka Expressway’s transformative journey shaping Delhi and Gurgaon’s real estate future.

Enhanced Infrastructure and Urban Development

Dwarka Expressway isn’t just about connectivity—it’s a catalyst for enhanced urban living. The upcoming inauguration has sparked widespread infrastructure development, with schools, healthcare, and shopping hubs emerging. Beyond boosting accessibility, the expressway integrates modern technology like Video Incident Detection for real-time information, ensuring safety. It’s not just a road; it’s a Smart Expressway fostering economic growth. The ripple effect includes job creation, prosperity, and a thriving community. With Speed Sentry Cameras and a central control room, it promises rapid progress for the region, making Dwarka Expressway a key player in transforming the area’s landscape.

Better Connectivity and Reduced Congestion

Dwarka Expressway is a game-changer for Gurgaon’s connectivity. Analysts predict it will slash travel time, easing congestion and boosting efficiency. This seamless link between Gurgaon and Dwarka promises smoother commutes, enhancing productivity. Businesses are expected to capitalize on improved connectivity, driving economic growth and job opportunities. Inauguration brings relief to commuters battling NCR traffic, transforming daily Gurgaon-Dwarka commutes. Designed for interconnectivity and decongestion, the state-of-the-art Dwarka Expressway ensures top-notch standards, integrating modern sustainable construction for enhanced safety and efficiency. It’s not just a road; it’s a transformative link shaping the region’s future. Upon completion, NH-248BB will have provisions for over 20 Bridges and Flyovers, 2 Railway Over Bridge and Underpass, over 15 Vehicle Underpass, as well as 20 underground Pedestrian Crossings. To encourage cyclists, the expressway will also have two 2 metre wide bicycle corridors on each side. Dwarka Expressway will have a controlled traffic facility, along with Variable Message Signage (VMS). Entry and exit to the expressway will be monitored with CCTV cameras to ensure all safety protocols are adhered at all times.

The entire project is being built in 4 phases. The first phase will commence from the Shiv Murti on NH-8 and would provide interchange facility to the free flowing traffic with the Dwarka Expressway, using 8-lane shallow tunnels. The second phase will commence from Bijwasn RUB and lead towards the Delhi-Haryana border. In this phase, the expressway will provide smooth traffic flow and better connectivity to Dwarka Sector 21, Sector 23 and Najafgarh, while also providing connectivity to the India International Convention Centre in Dwarka Sector 25. The third phase will commence from the Delhi-Haryana border and lead towards the Basai ROB. This phase will consist of 8.5 km long 8-lane flyovers, as well as underpasses, which will be integrated in 3 parts to the main expressway. This will not only provide better interlinkages, but also ensure that commuters can swiftly and safely reach their respective destinations. The fourth phase will start from Basai ROB and lead towards the Khedli Dhaula Toll Plaza near NH-8. With the enlargement of roads in this region, This phase will include a Trumpet interchange that will connect the Dwarka Expressway with IMT Manesar, along with Sector 88 and Sector 84. It should be noted that at the interchange of NH8 Central Peripheral Road and South Peripheral Road intersection, there is a Clover Leaf construction design. This will ensure that the traffic merging from different roads will not be interfering with each other.

The Gurgaon section of Dwarka Expressway, set to inaugurate in 2024, heralds sustainable growth. Reduced congestion and enhanced traffic flow will cut the region’s carbon footprint. Emphasizing sustainability, the project includes green spaces, walkways, and cycling tracks for a healthier lifestyle. It tackles air and noise pollution in Delhi and Gurgaon while optimizing fuel use and travel time. As the expressway completes this year, it becomes a catalyst for comprehensive development, ushering in new townships and commercial hubs. This transformative project not only enhances connectivity but unlocks economic potential, fostering sustainable progress for Delhi NCR.
