Ghaziabad Development Authority’s (GDA) final decision to shift the dumping ground from Indirapuram’s Shakti Khand area to another site at Galand has been welcoming enough for the home buyers. The decision has not only been welcoming for the home buyers but also for the residential development that ought to get a boost with the removal of the dumping ground.
GDA’s decision of transferring the dumping ground has relieved around 30,000 flat owners of Ganga, Yamuna, Hindon and Brahmaputra Enclave. Presence of open dumping ground in the vicinity of the region has been the reason for the flats for not being occupied by the buyers. The dumping ground has been a source of pollution and it has been a need to shift it to a different place. Builders having their properties in the region have suffered due the presence of the dumping ground.
According to a survey, of around 150 metric tonnes of waste generated daily, households account for 113 metric tonnes, commercial and industrial waste about 19 metric tonnes, garden and horticulture waste six metric tonnes, road sweeping 7.5 metric tonnes and silt four metric tonnes. Shifting of the dump yard has been our demand for a long time. There have been various protests by the residents of the region in order to remove the dump yard.
Siddharth Vihar has been a prominent region in Ghaziabad. The decision by the authority has not just made the residents happy but has also proved out to be embracing enough for the builders of the region. The decision has been welcomed by all, thus escalating the real estate sector.
