CREDAI-Pune Metro and Kumar Realty Celebrates Gratitude Week for construction workers

Pune, May 10, 2025: A ‘Gratitude Week’ was held from 1st to 7th May 2025 to commemorate International Labour Day by CREDAI-Pune Metro. As part of the week-long tribute, a special event was organized by Kumar Realty in collaboration with CREDAI-Pune Metro at the Megapolis project site in Hinjewadi. The initiative received an overwhelming response, with around 300 participants, including construction workers and staff members, attending the event. 

CREDAI-Pune Metro under its Labour Welfare Committee regularly undertakes various initiatives for the welfare of construction workers by arranging competitions like Best Facility Awards and Safety Awards. Apart from this CREDAI – Pune Metro also arranges labour welfare activities like medical check-up camps for the labours and their families, BOCW registration and enrolling the labours with the Government Welfare Schemes. So far, the following number of labourers have benefited through CREDAI Pune Metro, in the last financial year.

d.         Safety Essential Kit Distribution – 10560

e.         Health & Nutrition Services for the children of Labours – 25605

f.          Vaccination of the Children of Labours – 700 

Themed ‘Shramik Samman, Aapka Yogdan, Hamara Abhimaan’ (Honoring Workers – Your Contribution, Our Pride), the week-long program was dedicated to recognizing and celebrating the invaluable contribution of construction labourers. The event commenced with a ceremonial lamp-lighting, guest felicitation and an oath-taking session. The key highlight was the formal inauguration of a health check-up camp, which forms part of ongoing welfare efforts at the Megapolis site, and will provide basic health check-ups for workers and certification under BOCW Ajay Healthcare in collaboration with CREDAI-Pune Metro. There have been around 300 beneficiaries for the health checkup camp and the TT vaccination drive. The event was followed by a guided visit to the labour camp area.

Throughout the gratitude week, a range of impactful initiatives were undertaken to uplift the worker community, including BOCW registration drives, safety training and awareness sessions, health check-ups and medical assistance, distribution of essential kits, skill development workshops and information sessions on labour welfare schemes. These activities aimed not only at immediate support but also long-term empowerment and dignity for the labour force.
