“We believe that infrastructure status for affordable housing projects, including extension of benefits under Section 80-IA of Income Tax Act is required to encourage developers to promote more projects in the sector. Key benefits should include ability of insurance companies and other long term loan providers to lend to Affordable Housing Project, automatic approval route for ECB and income tax benefits available through 80-IA and 80-IB of Income Tax Act.”
