BCD Group introduces Vanaprastha, a Vedic-age-inspired community living experience for the elderly in Bengaluru

Bengaluru, May 19, 2023: BCD Group, one of the oldest names in the Indian construction and design industry, today introduced Vanaprastha, a Vedic-age-inspired Senior living community experience to cater to the growing demand for senior living in India. This includes a host of amenities which fulfil the varying needs of retirees with state-of-the-art medical assistance and wide landscaping for a peaceful environment.

The first Vanaprastha experience will be available at BCD Emprassa, a township spread across an area of 9 acres, the project will come up in three phases with each phase spread across 3 acres and will boast of nearly 300 units. Located in Hoskote, the project comes with state-of-the-art amenities such as recreational centres, yoga/meditation rooms, fitness centres, and 24/7 medical services among many others. The company is also in talks with specialised companies from the United Kingdom for highly personalised healthcare as well as services within the community living project.

It will be India’s first rental Senior community living experience at that scale and amenities with affordable pricing. This comes on the back of increasing purchasing power among the new retirees and the growing need for a more comfortable life post-retirement flushed with supporting amenities. The project has been designed keeping in mind the diverse needs of the elderly and is inspired by the Vedic-age doctrine of a relaxed life once an individual has fulfilled their societal responsibilities.

According to Mordor Intelligence, the size of the India Senior Living Market is USD 10.15 billion in the current year and is anticipated to register a CAGR of over 10% during the forecast period. The market is driven by the ageing population. Furthermore, the services provided by the communities for senior citizens are driving the market. Bengaluru, in particular, is one of the most preferred markets for retirees for its pleasant nature and availability of superior medical care and quality of life.
