As Sustainability Becomes a Homebuyer Priority, Central Park Showcases Rainwater Harvesting as a Core Pillar of Future-Ready Residential Communities

GMDA Monitored Mock- Drill carried out for checking the efficacy of the Rainwater Harvesting (RWH) Management System ahead of Monsoon

Gurugram, June 23, 2026: Sustainability has been a key consideration for Central Park Resorts at all its ventures.  On 19th June the Group at the behest of Principal Advisor, Urban Development, Government of Haryana showcased a Live Practical Demonstration and On-Ground Drill for Rainwater Harvesting (RWH) System Management at Central Greens, Sector-48 Gurugram in a full-fledged mock-drill.

The Engineering Team of Central Park Resorts has created an exemplary comprehensive maintenance protocol for its Storm Water Control and Rain-Water Harvesting System over a period of time.

On 19th June 2026 Central Park comprehensively demonstrated the following technical aspects of its Rainwater Harvesting System in the presence of GMDA Officials and Representatives from 30 Group Housing Societies and Residents’ Welfare Associations across Gurugram:

(a)  Physical inspection and functional health check of RWH recharge pits- including desilting, debris removal, and filter media replacement (gravel, sand, charcoal layers).

(b)  Pre-Monsoon Preparatory Drill entailing cleaning and flushing of collection pipes, inlet gates, and first – flush diverters to ensure un-obstructed flow.

(c)   Structural integrity checks of catchment surfaces, connecting pipework, and pre-location zones.

(d)  Capacity assessment and recharge rate estimation for its RWH pits in line with Central Ground Water Board guidelines and Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority requirements.

(e)  Display of Signage, Awareness Materials, and Resident Engagement, practices adopted by Central Park Resorts to promote conscious water conservation.

Central Park efficaciously demonstrated how sustainable infrastructure is becoming one of the critical differentiators among premium real estate ventures as well as how it is enhancing long-term asset value thereby promoting superior community resilience.

Talking about this initiative, Mr. Vikram Singh, President – Project, Central Park, said:

“The future of real estate can’t only be pivoted to premium amenities and quality construction. It is equally important for the developers to instill faith in all stakeholders about creating sustainable and resilient living ecosystems. Water conservation infrastructure including rainwater harvesting systems have become a critical component of responsible community planning. Through this demonstration, we endeavored to showcase how proactive maintenance, technology, and stakeholder collaboration can significantly enhance the performance of these systems thereby contributing to long-term environmental sustainability.”

This demonstration denotes a larger trend within India’s rapidly evolving real-estate industry, where sustainability has become a major factor affecting both investors’ predilection and homebuyers’ experience. Homebuyers are now evaluating projects based upon more than just design and amenities; they want assurance that projects will provide long-term water security and comply with local regulations related to environmental issues. Stunningly efficient buildings that rank high on sustainability quotient while simultaneously providing resistance to natural disasters caused as the perils of climate change is what the informed buyers command and demand.

The event that was held at Central Park demonstrated how developers, housing associations, civic authorities and residents could together collaborate to create the best methods for sustainable water management. The goal of this demonstration was to underpin the pivotal role builders play in developing climate-resilient communities, simultaneously encouraging peers to adopt proactive maintenance practices and work collaboratively by sharing best practices with each other with the larger objective of curating environment-friendly infrastructure.
