Ar.T.S.Ramani Sankar graduated in the year 1963 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture from University of Madras securing the FIRST RANK with Gold Medal.

He has travelled and worked in various countries and in the year 1966 established his firm Sankar and Associates..

He has 49 years of experience in the field of Architecture and Planning. He is a fellow of the Indian Institute of Architects and Council of Architects of India.

He has been a Board Member, Examiner and Honorary Professor for Architectural studies for various universities in India.

He has been chosen as the ‘ARCHITECT OF THE YEAR’ by the Indian Institute of Architects twice, in the 1992 and 1997.

His experience in buildings encompasses the entire range from a low cost Housing to entire Townships, from clinics to Super specialty Hospitals, from classrooms to campuses. His career includes over 2000 projects, which only a few other architects in the region have achieved, but what separates him from the rest is his eye for details and his ability to achieve it at a variety of scales.

One of the most unique aspects of Mr. Ramani Sankar is his spectrum of talents. Today where specialization is the order of the day, especially in the field of Architecture, he slips in and out of a variety of roles like Designer, Project Manager, Administrator, and Educator with ease.

Even today, when he is 70 plus, his work schedule has not changed. He designs, visits sites, attends meetings , teaches in various architectural schools, participates with the social activists’ on green and sustainable environmental projects.
