Ahmedabad, October 10, 2014 : Ambuja provides services that are beyond the manufacture of cement. Its Customer Support Group (CSG) is strengthening its focus in Gujarat through technical assistance and value added services for customers, masons and construction professionals including Architects, Civil Engineers and Project Managers.

Ambuja plans to train 18000 masons and 15000 contractors with certified construction courses by 2020. It has also been instrumental in providing certified courses to 3000 masons and 2200 contractors in Gujarat till date. The Neev Abhiyaan program by the CSG Group provides formal training for Skill Building of masons, contractors and supervisors. Many masons have honed their skills with the help of the sessions and have established themselves as professional contractors.

Speaking on these developments, Umesh Soni, Corporate Head, Customer Support Group, Ambuja Cement said “The vision of our Customer Support function is to create value for customers and influencers by providing advice and value added services which are beyond selling cement. This goes a long way in not only strengthening our brand equity but also building sustainable demand for our products and services.”

Ambuja Cements which began operations in Gujarat almost three decades ago, has created many firsts in this state. The mother plant at Kodinar has over the past 26 years moved from producing 0.7 million tonnes cement to 5 million tonnes today. Ambuja owes a lot to this state for leveraging it from a single plant kiln to multiple plants across the country. In Gujarat, Ambuja now has a captive port, grinding unit and sea terminal.

The Ambuja Knowledge Centre (AKC) is yet another service offered for our customers. The 5th Ambuja Knowledge Centre (AKC) was launched in Bhavnagar last week. The first AKC in the state was launched in 2009 and today AKCs exist in Ahmedabad, Surat, Rajkot and Mehsana. These AKCs regularly organize technical lectures/ workshops for construction professionals by internal technical faculties and by also inviting external technical experts. In the cities of Ahmedabad, Mehsana, Gandhinagar, Aanad, Rajkot, Jamnagar, Junagadh, Gandhidham, Mahuva, Bhavnagar, Surendranagar, Baroda, Bharuch, Surat, Vapi, Navsari cities, Ambuja Cement Engineering Services (ACE) are provided to Individual Home Builders including lab infrastructure for planning, estimation and basic information on materials and practices.

Jignesh Gandhi, Head – Gujarat & South, Customer Support Group, Ambuja Cement said, “With the rapid development in Gujarat, construction sector is the largest

sector after agriculture for employment of unskilled / semi-skilled workers. However, no formal training is provided to masons in the region. Ambuja’s Customer Support Group in Gujarat is actively involved in providing end-to-end solutions for Individual Home Builders, Contractors and Masons thus fostering strong relationships.”

Ambuja Cement will also aggressively promote its proprietary environment friendly Modular Curing method to help save water during construction. The innovative modular curing technique has already helped save 7 million litres of water in Gujarat and 18 million litres nationally, since it was launched in 2012.

Ambuja’s Concrete Lab in Ahmedabad is a one-of-its-kind in the state. It has received the Certificate of Accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) and is equipped with modern equipment to test aggregate and concrete for its quality and compressive strength. Test Reports are provided to customers to assure them that the concrete meets the design.

Ambuja Cements also has a dedicated space ‘Ambuja Corners’ at its dealer counters for interaction with users & influencers by addressing queries and organizing activities.

Earlier this month, Ambuja launched an advanced formula quality product,

Ambuja Plus

in Gujarat. This new product is special PPC cement with advanced SPE technology that makes concrete stronger and easier to work with. It is packed in special tamperproof bag to keep out moisture. Aimed at small consumers and individual house builders, Ambuja Plus has been launched in Ahmedabad, Surat, Baroda and Rajkot. CCI Newswire
