Over 700 construction laborers participated in May Day celebrations organized by CREDAI Bengaluru

9th consecutive year celebrations, fun and entertainment for the laborers by CREDAI

Bengaluru, May 02, 2019: On the occasion of International Labor Day, CREDAI Bengaluru organized a fun-filled day for construction laborers from CREDAI member developers today at Mount Carmel Grounds, Vasanthnagar.  Over 700 construction laborers from different parts of the city came forward and participated in the event. Different sports activities like 100 meters race, 200 meters race, shot put, long jump for men and women category and prize distribution for the winners were the highlights of the day.

Construction laborers spend most of their time at the construction sites and hence, are left with not much time to pursue their hobbies or interests or any other entertainment. To gift them a day out with their families, CREDAI Bengaluru has organized this event.  The winners in each category were awarded by CREDAI Bengaluru. Breakfast and lunch were provided to the laborers.

Smt. RohiniSindhuri, IAS, Secretary, Karnataka Building and Construction Workers Welfare graced the occasion and interacted with the laborers and distributed the prizes to winners.Mr. Krishna, Governing Body Member, CREDAI Bengaluru welcomed her to the event.

Speaking on the occasion Mr. Faizal Rizvi, Governing Body Member, CREDAI Bengaluru said “Laborers are the integrated part of the building construction. They have helped in raising the famous structures like TajMahal, HawaMahal etc. Their hard work makes the building get good shape”.

Highlighting the May Day celebration by CREDAI Bengaluru Mr. Anil Nayak, CEO, CREDAI Bengaluru said “We have been conducting this event from last 9 years. Always we receive about 700-800 laborers to participate in this event which shows the enthusiasm of the laborers.  This is also one of the opportunity CREDAI creates to show them their talent in the field of sports”.

Sharing the happiness about securing prizes in 3 activities Shivamma, a laborer from Sumadhura Group said “I am very happy today that I have participated in all the activities and received prizes in 3 sports categories. Events like this help us to explore our talent and give us enjoyment. I have come here with my team who kept supporting me throughout all the activities. This is the third year I am receiving the prize in CREDAI’s May Day event”.
