Kolkata, December 25, 2018: Sumadhura Group, one of the South India’s top realtors which has been recognised for its exceptional projects, recently took an initiative in bringing all of its communities together. The initiative was driven by a cricket tournament – Sumadhura Infracon Premier League (SIPL), the fixture of which came to a final close with the grand finale on 16th December, 2018.
The event was presided over by Mr Madhusudhan G, Chairman and MD, Sumadhura Group. Mr Karun Nair, an ace cricketer of India’s national cricket team, who also plays for Karnataka in domestic cricket, was the chief guest for the event. The tournament which commenced in the month of October with a total of 16 teams, witnessed its grand finale at Kannamangala cricket ground in Whitefield, near one of Sumadhura’s prestigious projects, Sumadhura Eden Garden.
SIPL was undertaken by Sumadhura Group with two major objectives of providing a platform for the communities to get closer and also to promote the necessity of a healthy lifestyle. These objectives were set with the motive of marking a physical presence in a lifestyle where people have taken to digital mediums even for playing the field sports. This digitization of sports is however not restricted to youngsters but also has the middle-aged in its grip. Thus, the participants list of the age group of 30-45 years was one of the major attraction of the tournament, who managed to add some thrill to their life even after a monotonous work schedule.
Speaking on the momentous occasion, the chief guest Mr Karun Nair said, “It is wonderful to see prominent developers like Sumadhura Group coming forward and taking steps in bringing the communities together. Considering the fast lives we all are living, health is always neglected. I highly appreciate this initiative where both fitness and healthy networking within communities are encouraged through such a fun filled activity.”
“I am overwhelmed to see the enthusiasm with which the SIPL was played. I believe we truly lived up to the motto of bringing out the child within us through this zealous cricket tournament. In the pursuit of building healthy societies, we at Sumadhura, have also been organising sports events on different occasions like Women’s Day, Worker’s Memorial Day and more,” said Mr Madhusudhan G, Chairman and MD, Sumadhura Group.
The finale of SIPL was also accompanied by a winter carnival which finally drew curtains over the month-long festivities. Many cultural and fun activities were also organised to cater to the gathering.
