Housing.com ties up with solartech start-up Loom Solar to provide solar rooftop solutions

New Delhi, January 24, 2022:India’s leading full stack proptech company Housing.com launches Solar Rooftop – a one stop solar rooftop solution for homes under its rental and allied services platform Housing Edge. With the help of this innovative residential solution, homeowners can save up to 90% on their electricity bills. In this context,  Housing.com has entered into a partnership with Loom Solar, an emerging SolarTech start-up under Government of India’s Start-up India initiative.

This pan India partnership aims at leveraging and augmenting the strength of both organisations for providing a one-stop solution to home owners for their solar needs and further lays the foundation for creating future ready homes.

Sustainable living is sought after in a big way in India, with solar rooftops playing a pivotal role. According to Mercom India Research’s latest report, in Q3 2021, in 9M(9 months, 2021), India added 1.3 GW of rooftop solar, an increase of 202% compared to the same period last year. The installations were the highest ever recorded in the first nine months of any year. In Q3 2021, the residential sector led the growth for the second quarter in a row, making up for 54% of total rooftop installations. The commercial & industrial sector and the government sector followed with 44% and 2%, respectively. Gujarat had the most rooftop installations in Q3 2021, followed by Maharashtra and Haryana.

“At Housing.com, we continuously aim to create new offerings to add greater value to our customers. This tie up with Loom Solar is another step in that direction. Rooftop solar is one of the crucial elements in creating sustainable living solutions and we are confident that demand for this will continue to rise exponentially in the near future,” said Dhruv Agarwala, group CEO, Housing.comMakaan.com PropTiger.com

Amod Anand, Co-Founder & Director, Loom Solar said, “We as a nation are moving towards ‘Atma Nirbhar Bharat’ and this journey begins right from our homes. Loom Solar recently crossed 50,000 homes adopting rooftop solar systems and this tie-up with Housing.com takes another footstep towards addressing the bigger mission. We look forward to strengthening the overall purpose of reaching the households with such a partnership and to take our mission, ‘Apna Ghar, Apni Bijli’ to newer heights.”

Just in the pre-launch phase, solar rooftop solutions have emerged as one of the most popular and fastest growing categories under Housing Edge with almost 20% MOM growth in terms of user enquiries.

To increase the outreach of Solar Rooftop solutions, in addition to this partnership, Housing.com has also tie-ups with 3 more companies for providing solar rooftop solutions including Home Scape, My Sun & Solar Square.

With Housing Edge, getting a solar rooftop facility installed is very easy where one only needs to submit their details on Housing.com and we ensure that our partners get in touch and schedule a site survey, give a proposal and complete the installation. Housing Edge also provides customised solar rooftop arrangements as needed by customers. Features of Solar Rooftop Installations available on Housing include an innovative solar plant with an exquisite wooden Pergola finish that comes with a 25 year warranty (product insurance included), an app based monitoring solution and easy financing options.

“While going solar is a great way to contribute towards a greener planet, a housing society or even an independent house can effectively cut a sizable chunk of their energy bills and also boost their overall property value,” said Snehil Gautam, Group CMO, Housing.comMakaan.com PropTiger.com.

In addition to Solar Rooftop, Housing.com under Housing Edge has launched multiple services in the last one year including Pay Rent, Online Rent Agreement, Home Loans, Home Interiors, Packers & Movers, Rental Furniture, Property Management, Home Inspection and Legal Services in partnership with some of the best names in the industry.’
